Daniel M. Hill, Sr.

AGE: 94 • Ocean View

Lt. Col. Daniel M. Hill, Sr., USAF (Ret.), age 94 of Ocean View, DE formerly of Arlington, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at his home.

Mr. Hill retired from the United States Air Force in 1975, where he proudly served his country for 32 years during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After his retirement from the service, Dan served as a real estate broker in Arlington, VA and for Jack Hickman Real Estate in Bethany Beach, DE until his retirement.

Dan served as the Chaplain of the Fenwick Island Lions Club, was a member of St. Martha's Episcopal Church, the Nautical Sounds Barbershop Chorus, the VFW and the American Legion. Dan was also a member of the Senior Single Mingles Club and the AARP. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing Scrabble and Dominoes with his many friends.

Dan was preceded in death by his first wife, Connie P. Hill, in 1977 and his second wife, Barbara G. Hill, in 1996.

Dan is survived by 3 daughters, Linda D. Krensky (Steven and his children Ben and Sarah), Dona A. Hill and Connie D. Berry; a son, Daniel M. Hill, Jr. (Debra and her children Jeffrey and Richard); a sister, Pearl F. Thomson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; 6 grandchildren, Shawn Berry, Kim Silbert, Adina Imes (Tony), Justin Silbert (Liron), Zachary Krensky and Frank Koerner; and 5 great grandchildren, Avery, Wesley and Charlie Silbert and Venice and Talia Imes. Dan is also survived by 4 stepdaughters, Christine Hinds, Catherine Clark, Andrea Hinds and Julie Dougherty; 4 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandsons.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Martha's Episcopal Church, corner of Pennsylvania & Maplewood Ave., Bethany Beach, DE where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Dan's name be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
