Domenico R. Bonvetti, Jr.

AGE: 87 • Wilmington

Domenico R. Bonvetti, Jr., 87, of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. He was surrounded by his devoted family.

Mr. Bonvetti was born in Wilmington on February 19, 1929, son of the late Domenico and Martha Pia (Marchese) Bonvetti. A member of UFCW Local 152, he was employed as a meat cutter with A & P and Super Fresh Supermarket, retiring in 1991 after 38 years of service. He was a faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Church and enjoyed singing in the parish choir. Mr. Bonvetti was an avid hunter and fisherman, a talented leather craftsman, and enjoyed time at Delaware Park. He could also be found tinkering in the kitchen.

A loving husband, dad and pop-pop, Mr. Bonvetti will be dearly missed by his wife of 66 years, Beatrice (Palmer) Bonvetti; his children, Domenico Bonvetti, III (Patricia), Diane Bonvetti (David), Roberto Bonvetti (Rhonda), Natalie Schultz (Jeff), and Giacomo Bonvetti (Mary Beth); his grandchildren, Kimberly Garber, Patricia Murray, Kerri Munch, Angelo DiNorscia, Rob Bonvetti, Leanna Schultz, Amanda Schultz, Andrew Bonvetti, Samantha Bonvetti, Alec Bonvetti and Kaylee Bonvetti; and his sixteen great grandchildren.

Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and their families.

He was predeceased by his brothers, John, Edward and Anthony "Duke" Bonvetti; and his sister, Marie Ficca.

Family and friends are invited to visit at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2503 Centerville Road, Wilmington on Tuesday, September 6 from 10:00-11:15AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM, followed by interment in Silverbrook Cemetery.
