Edward M. "Bud" Sikina Obituary
Edward M. Sikina "Bud"

AGE: 81 • Newark

Age 81, went to be home with the Lord on Wednesday, February 8th at the Christiana Hospital in Newark following a courageous battle with cancer.

He leaves his wife of 27 years, Chiching "Susan" Sikina; his son, Matthew E. Sikina; his stepdaughter, Carolyn Sikina; his daughters from his prior marriage, Rachelle D. Wirth and husband Edward Wirth, and Hellene Kley and husband Anthonius Kley; eight grandchildren; and many dear friends.

Born on February 1st, 1936 in Grindstone, PA, Ed graduated from Uniontown High School in 1956 and attended Wabash College under a football scholarship. He joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1959. He moved to Delaware and owned A&J's Pizza in Pike Creek for many years. Ed also worked for DuPont and retired in 1994 to become a full-time dad for his young son, Matthew. Last year, he went with his wife, Chiching, for a prolonged stay in The Villages, Florida, where he enjoyed sunshine and the company of many dear friends.

A tried and true Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Ed enjoyed watching them and attended many of their games. He was also an avid golfer and took yearly trips to the Doral Country Club to play with his fellow golfing buddies. An all around handyman, he could fix anything and always loved a good challenge. He knew cars like a book, and could whip up a car engine from spare parts in no time. He was also involved in the Wilmington Community Evangelical Church. There, he met many beloved and close friends in both the English and Chinese Ministries.

A memorial service for Ed will be held Sunday, February 19th at the Wilmington Community Evangelical Church in Hockessin, Delaware. Visitation to pay respects starts at 2:30pm, and the service starts at 3:30pm. Following the service, refreshments will be provided. A private interment will be held for family only. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713. (302) 652-5913
