Elaine Lucas Dill Obituary
Elaine Lucas Dill

AGE: 82 • Rehoboth Beach

Elaine Lucas Dill, age 82 of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully and comfortably on April 24th following a stroke. Born on October 20th 1933 in Marcus Hook, PA, Elaine attended Ridley Park High School and Goldey-Beacom College. She had many close friends and was a very gifted student. At 16, she went on her first date with William (Bill) Dill, after which, she never needed to date anyone else. Bill instantly became the love of her life and her best friend. On November 7, 1953, they were married. This devoted and loving partnership lasted 63 years. Elaine moved to Georgia during the Korean War where Bill was stationed and worked at a local newspaper as a writer. After his honorable discharge, they moved back to suburban Philadelphia and she began work at Sunoco. Elaine worked in Materials Management in Philadelphia and Radnor, a very successful career that lasted until retirement at the young age of 55. After retirement, Elaine and Bill moved to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. They spent many healthy decades enjoying the beach, golfing at Rehoboth Beach Country Club, surf fishing and spending time with their many close friends. Her biggest passion began almost sixteen years ago, with the arrival of grandchildren. She adored her grandson and granddaughter more than anything in the world. They called her "Mi", and together enjoyed precious moments laughing, telling stories or cooking in the kitchen. Her grandchildren's lives were a constant focus that brought her joy.

She is survived by her loving husband Bill, her son Michael and wife Sharon of Wilton, Connecticut and two beautiful grandchildren, Jackson (15) and Morgan (14).

Public services will be held on Tuesday, May 3rd at 11am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 301 King Charles Ave, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
