Eleanor Charlotte Ayrault
Wilmington - Eleanor Charlotte Ayrault, age 97, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Berkley Heights, NJ, passed away on Thursday May 17, 2018 at Seasons Hospice in Christiana Hospital.
She was a graduate of South Orange High School. Eleanor received her Associates of Arts degree at a local New Jersey business college. She worked on an assembly line building Wildcat Fighter Jets at Eastern Aircraft for the Navy during WWII, worked at RCA as a secretary, and was Manager of Purchasing and Administrative Support at Oakite Chemical Products prior to her retirement.
Eleanor and her husband, Allen Ayrault, Jr., built a two-story colonial home in Berkley Heights, NJ with their own hands. She loved sewing, button collecting and gardening.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Waldkirch; grandchildren Howard Isenberg, Merle Levy and David Isenberg; nine great grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 18, 2018 at 1:00PM at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. Friends may call prior starting at 12:30PM. Interment private.
