Betty Riblett, 83, died of a major stroke on November 10, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 12, 1933 in Wilmington, Betty was the daughter of the late Ana Marino and Thomas Franzone. After her mother's death, Betty was raised by the Davalos family, and then also raised by her step-mother, Rose Franzone, and her father in Little Italy. She graduated from Wilmington High School in 1950, the Delaware Hospital School of Nursing in 1953 and was employed at the Delaware Hospital upon graduation from nursing school and continued her employment there for forty years! She furthered her education in nursing at the University of DE, Millersville University, and then completed her master's degree at St. Joseph's University. She later became a certified diabetes clinician and thoroughly enjoyed teaching her patients about diabetes.

Betty enjoyed cooking Italian food and hosting parties with all of her family, friends, and colleagues. She also cooked for many church functions at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church. She was a very active member of Red Clay and sang in both the Chancel and Outreach Choirs.

She is survived by her daughter, Ann Lucia Riblett; her son, David A. Riblett, Jr. and his wife Jayne; her grandchildren, Seth Adam Riblett and his wife, Stephanie Ann, Sarah Hill and her husband, Lance, and Jacob Thomas Snyder. She is also survived by her great-grandsons, Landon, Domenick, and Vincent Hill, and Caleb Riblett. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Joseph Franzoni and his wife Corinne, her brother, Thomas Franzone and his wife, Frances, her sister, Regina and her husband, Bernie Grubbs; her sisters-in-law, Josephine Franzone, Frances Welch, and JoAnn Riblett; her brother-in-law, Richard Riblett and his fiancée, Pamela Jordan. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Gail F. Riblett.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband of nearly sixty years, David A. Riblett, Sr.; her brothers, Dominick, and Frank Franzone; and her brother-in-law, Harry C. Riblett, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2016 from 1:30pm until 3:00pm at Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 500 McKennans Church Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, followed by a celebration of her life beginning at 3:00pm. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church Music Department at the address listed above.
