AGE: 87 • formerly of Lower Alloway's Creek

Ellis J. Hartshorn, age 87, formerly of Lower Alloway's Creek went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13th in the Delaware Veteran's Home, Milford, DE. Born in Scranton, PA he was the son of the late Ellis and Ruth Maynard Hartshorn. Mr. Hartshorn was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Before his retirement Mr. Hartshorn was an electrician for the E.I. DuPont Co., Carneys Point Plant with 35 years service. He was a member of the Canton Baptist Church where he served on the Deacon's Board, Trustee Board, taught Sunday School and sang solos during the church service. Mr. Hartshorn is survived by his wife, Elisabeth Hartshorn; his daughters, Sharon Berwager (Ned) of Elkton, MD and Dorel Peplinski (Lee) of Wilmington, DE; three grandchildren, Kurt Ritzman(Chloey), Michelle Mann(Desmond) and Beth Smith(Mark); and seven great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his first wife, Doris Hartshorn.

Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, December 19th in WOODSIDE FUNERAL HOME, 613 Salem-Quinton Rd., Rt. 49, Quinton Twp. where friends may call after 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Canton Baptist Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 Poplar Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
