Eva Vittes Obituary
Eva Vittes

Age 98, passed away July 9, 2016.

Born September 19,1917 she was the devoted daughter of Fanny and Hyman Vittes. She became her parents' driver after she received her DE Driver's License at age 15. After her mother's death she was her father's business partner until his passing. Eva, who was predeceased by her siblings Albert Vittes, Anne Krouse, and Rose Warrington, became the fifth daughter of the Schrieber family, and shared a home with the last surviving sister, Nettie, for forty years.

During those years Eva benefited from the advice of Nettie's brother-in-law, Joe Cohen, and then Joe's daughter Claire, who was a loyal advisor and friend. Eva is survived by loving nieces Lois Krouse Rosenberg and Joan Warrington Chadbourne along with many grand nieces and nephews. After selling her business, Eva was employed by the State of Delaware for twenty-one years, until her retirement. She enjoyed domestic and international travel and as an excellent cook looked forward to hosting many family gatherings. At those dinners, to our delight, she shared her special wit and light.

Graveside services will be held at the Jewish Community Cemetery, 401 Foulk Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
