Bowlsby
Evelyn Elizabeth Bowlsby, 86, of Hockessin, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18, 2008 at Franciscan Care Center at Brackenville.
Evelyn was born in Kaolin, PA to the late Fred V. and Florence H. Crossan. She graduated from Kennett Consolidated High School in 1939. She worked at National Vulcanized Fiber in Yorklyn, DE, prior to becoming a full-time homemaker. She married her late husband John A. Bowlsby in September of 1950 and together they raised their only daughter, Judith. Throughout her life she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Her husband John A. Bowlsby preceded her in death in 1988. She is survived by her daughter Judith B. Ramsey and her husband Robert A. of Hockessin and also by her granddaughter Rebecca A. Lynch and her husband Kyle I. of Wilmington.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 22 at 2 pm, with visitation starting at 1 pm at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Burial will be at Hockessin Friends Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244 or to the charity of your choice.
