Florence Weinstein

Age 97, passed away peacefully January 11, 2016 at the Milton and Hattie Kutz Home, her residence for over a decade. Born in Brooklyn, NY where she grew up, Florence married her childhood sweetheart, Harry Weinstein, and in 1939 they moved to Flushing, NY where they raised their two daughters, Roberta and Mora. Mora died tragically in 1952 at the age four from the croup. After Mora's death, the family moved to a new home in Flushing, where Florence lived for forty years before relocating to Delaware in 2005.

Florence worked her entire life beginning as a teenager in the family candy store. Once she married, she worked for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Bristol Myers, Clairol Division and RCA records where she retired at age 75.

Predeceased by her parents, Dora and Michael Gordon, her beloved husband Harry (1980), her daughters, Mora and Roberta (1992), her sister, Beatrice Bossman (Beattie - last week), she is survived by her beloved grandchildren Cantor Mark Stanton, Sondra Stanton (Kay Davis) and Tori Braxton and her great grandchildren Ilhan, Sol and Nyra.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Beth Moses Cemetery, 1500 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704. A Memorial Service/Shiva will be held 5:30 pm Thursday at Congregation Beth Emeth, 300 West Lea Blvd. Wilmington, DE 19802. Shiva will continue 7:00 pm Saturday and Sunday evening at Congregation Beth Emeth.
