AGE: 73 • Elsmere

Passed away peacefully on January 31, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.

Frances was born in Lancaster, PA to the late Leonard L. and Edna (McVey) DiNunzio and raised in Wilmington, DE. Frances was a proud resident of Elsmere for the past 51 years.

Frances was a home day care provider. She touched the lives of many generations of children. She was a 1961 graduate of Wilmington High School. Upon graduation she attended Temple University.

She was an active member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild and served as a counsel person for a number of years. Frances also gave of herself by volunteering many hours at the Emmanuel Dining Room.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leonard L. DiNunzio Jr.

Frances will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles G. McKewen; her children, Kristal L. Hall and her husband, Brian, Kelly L. Keefe, Charles B. McKewen and his wife, Lisa. She cherished her grandchildren, Nicholas, Justin, Meghan, Nora, Anna, Madelyn, and Brendan. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard Kyle (Barbara), Mary Shaffer, Rita CiMarcone, Judith DiNunzio, and Evelyn Walls; her sister-in-law, Mecedes (Ski) DiNunzio; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Service for Frances at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 1301 N. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19806, on Saturday, February 6 at 10:00 am. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805, on Friday, February 5 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Interment immediately following service at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Frances' name to St. Stephen's Lutheran Church 1301 N. Broom St., Wilmington, DE 19806, or Special Olympics Delaware, 619 S. College Ave, Newark, DE 19716.
