AGE: 59 • Warwick, MD

Gary Pleasanton, 59, of Warwick, MD passed away Friday afternoon, March 25, 2016 at Heartland Hospice Home. He was born on December 5, 1956 and graduated from Bohemia Manor High school in 1974. As a young man he worked for American Building Systems as an ironworker. He loved his job no matter how high in the air the building was. He quickly advanced through the company, becoming a foreman and then eventually a superintendent. Gary was a part of hundreds of steel buildings constructed all over the east coast. He was also a professional crane operator. In 1994 he joined his brother, Patrick and worked for his construction company. He was an integral part of the success of the company, working nearly every day from the day he joined the company until his death. Gary loved hunting, gardening and traveling to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and South America. He had a great passion for cooking. He loved cooking for others, particularly his niece Megan Pleasanton. He enjoyed reading cooking recipes, but often made changes to the recipes to suit his or his guest's taste.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Robert R. Pleasanton, Sr.

He is survived by his mother Louisa Zeh, one daughter Melissa Pleasanton, and one son Nathan Pleasanton. He was one of nine siblings. He survived by 7 brothers Robert Pleasanton, Jr. of Warwick, MD, William Pleasanton (Tami) of Warwick, MD, Brian Pleasanton of the Phillippines, Arthur Pleasanton (Janice) of Newark, DE, Wallace Pleasanton of Warwick, MD, Terry Pleasanton of Tonapah, NV, Patrick Pleasanton (Allyson) of Warwick, MD; and one sister Linda Pleasanton of Las Vegas, NV, and many nieces and nephews including his favorite niece Megan Pleasanton.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11:00AM at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE 19709. A visitation will be held from 10AM-11AM. Inurnment will follow in St. Anne's Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Old St. Anne's Cemetery Fund C/O St. Anne's Episcopal Church P.O. Box 421, Middletown, DE 19709.
