AGE: 86 • Wilmington

Passed away peacefully on March 7, 2017 at Seasons Hospice surrounded by his family.

George was born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Rose (Telford) and Percy Riley. He graduated from St. James High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked his entire career in industrial paint sales, retiring in 2001. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth, his son, Eugene and his daughter-in-law, Doreen Riley.

George is survived by his daughter, Maryann Kelly and her husband, Barry of Wilmington; his sons, George A. Riley, Jr. of Wilmington and Paul J. Riley of Newark; his daughter-in-law, Monika Riley of Newark; his grandchildren, Doug, Gene, Kathleen, Dana, Lauren and Caitlin and his great-grandchildren, Peyton, Abigail, Avery, Cameron, Sadie, Aidan and Bella.

The family would like to thank the staffs at Cadia Pike Creek, Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals and Seasons Hospice for their attentive and compassionate care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at 11 AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, where friends may call after 10 AM. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Meals on Wheels, 100 West 10th Street, Ste. 207, Wilmington, DE 19801. Mealeyfu neralhomes.com
