Age 62, died suddenly on October 11, 2008.
He was predeceased by his parents, George J. Brutscher and Catherine Leo Brutscher. George was born in Wilmington, DE on December 4, 1945. A life-long resident of Chester County, he attended St. Patrick's School and graduated from Kennett High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Notre Dame University and a Doctor of Law degree from the University of Georgia. A highly respected member of the Chester County Bar Association, George practiced law as an attorney in Kennett Square from 1970 until 2008, where he was senior partner at Brutscher, Foley, Milliner, and Land. Among many other clients, he was the long-time solicitor for New Garden Township. An avid sportsman, George especially enjoyed hunting with his sons, brother, and friends in Potter County, PA and at his second home in Ovando, MT.
Mr. Brutscher is survived by his 2 sons, Geoffrey J. and George Barton; committed relationship with Lisa Vance; a daughter-in-law, Tracey Geddis Brutscher; and 3 precious grandchildren, Megan, Sidney and Jake. In addition, he leaves a brother, Stephen P. Brutscher and Kathy; 2 nephews, Matthew and Sean Brutscher; and mother of his children, Georgia F. Brutscher.
The family and law firm would like to invite George's friends and associates to George and Lisa's home at 830 Newhall Road in Kennett Square, this Wednesday October 15, from 4-7 pm. Interment will be held privately.
Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
