George L. Case Obituary
George L. Case

Townsend - George Lee Case, 85, of Townsend, Delaware passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday August 29, 2018 after a short illness.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Karol Z. Powers-Case, his sons Scott B. Case (Judy) and Brett L. Case (Paula); his stepsons, Bill Powers (Joan), Brendan Powers (Linda) and Joe Powers (Holly); his grandchildren, Brittany, Kelly, Megan, Fletcher, Emily, Anna, Katie, Will, Joey, Hannah, Trevor and B.J; great grandson Alexander George and many friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Carol Ann (Barnes) Case, in 1993.

George was born in Angelica, NY on July 11, 1933 to Howard and Florence (Hodgson) Case and spent the majority of his adult life in Delaware. He was predeceased by his sisters Margaret Brady and Joan Rybak. He graduated from Baltimore Poly Tech High School in 1951 and attended the University of Delaware. He spent the majority of his career at Monroe Calculator Company serving as both a technician and technical trainer.

George was incredibly talented with interests in woodworking, metal sculpting and general tinkering. Over the years, in his beloved workshop, he created all types of furniture, children's toys, metal sculptures and winning Pinewood Derby cars. He never met a machine he couldn't repair and could solve any mechanical problem he encountered. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and shooting, and was a member of both the NRA and the Bridgeville Rifle and Pistol Club. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was, by all accounts, an excellent pancake maker.

A memorial service will be held at 7pm on Wednesday September 19, 2018 at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home at 212 N Broad St, Middletown, DE 19709. Friends may call between 5-7pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Newark, DE 19711
