AGE: 93 • Middletown

George V. Clough, 93, of Middletown, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home with his wife by his side on June 16, 2016.

Born in Galena, Md. on Valentine`s Day 1923 to John H. and Clara E. Clough and according to records, George was the 8th child born out of ten. George began his young life on a farm and later attended school in Warwick, Md. Curious how things work, George began tinkering with motors disassembling then reassembling them which later became his life long career. George retired from Shallcross Chevrolet after serving well over 40 years of service. George spent many hours hunting, fishing, crabbing, going to yard sales and flea markets and even enjoying a few Rolling Rocks occasionally. His last few birthdays were spent at Kelly`s in Port Penn on "shrimp night ".

George was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Lillie. They enjoyed 72 years together living a quiet country life while raising their two daughters.

George was predeceased by not only his parents but all of his siblings as well.

George is survived by his wife Lillie; daughters Deborah A. Hollyday and husband Ed, and Elizabeth A. Weaver and husband Bill; grandchildren, Amy L Malone and husband Scott, Christopher G Wyatt and wife Janani and Mallarey M. Weaver and partner Pat Harsha; great grandchildren, Gabriella L Malone, Patrick R Harsha and Kele Satgunanathan-Wyatt.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 25th at 1 pm at Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St. Middletown. Visitation will be from 11 - 1 pm. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent in George's memory to Delaware Division of Fish and Wildlife, 89 Kings Highway, Dover, DE 19901.
