Gloria Rosenbaum

Age 93, passed away peacefully at the Kutz Home on November 18, 2016 after a long illness.

She was born in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of the late Jacob and Jennie Rosenbaum. After graduating from Wilmington High School in 1941, she worked as a secretary at the Delaware State Hospital and was active in the Wilmington Drama League.

She moved to Washington, DC in 1942 and worked as an administrative assitant at the National Institutes of Health.

She moved to New York City in 1945 to attend Columbia University. After graduating, she was employed by the State of New York as an Employment Interviewer. While in New York, she remained interested in the theater and was a member of the Screen Actors Guild and Equity and her stage name was Gloria Jo Ross and played several parts.

She is survived by her brother, Dr. Leonard Rosenbaum (Margaret); nieces, Cindy Eisner (Eyal), Marcia Tannian (Mark) and Debbie Rosenbaum; and several great-nieces.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Kutz Home and Compassionate Care Hospice for their kindness and caring during her illness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Kutz Home, 704 River Road, Wilmington, DE 19809.

Interment will be private at the request of the family. Shiva will be observed 6:30 pm, Sunday, November 20 at the home of Dr. Leonard Rosenbaum.
