Harold E. Bisson Jr. Obituary
Harold E. Bisson, Jr.

AGE: 83 • Wilmington

Harold E. Bisson Jr. (Chip) passed away peacefully Monday, October 19, 2015. Chip was born in Brooklyn N.Y. on January 8, 1932 and grew up in Bellerose Long Island. Chip graduated with an engineering degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received an MBA from Rutgers University. Following graduation, he was commissioned as an Ensign in the US Navy and served as a Gunnery Officer onboard the Destroyer USS Johnston DD-821. Chip was employed by the DuPont Company for 38 years where he held several management positions. Following his retirement from DuPont, Chip worked for H&R Block for 18 years.

Chip enjoyed all sporting events whether it was rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles or the Phillies. He was involved in coaching Little League and Legion baseball for many years and also enjoyed the game of golf. His favorite sporting events, by far, were those his grandchildren participated in. He could be found on the sidelines of every game rooting for each one of them. Chip was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing with several different groups of friends for many years. Chip and his wife enjoyed many happy summers in South Bethany Beach with their family and friends, boating, playing cards and Rummikub with their grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Marcella, two sons, Michael and Bruce and his grandson, Timothy Bisson. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan, and his children Butch Bisson (Nancy), Susan Trelenberg (Pete), Lauren Watson (Jeff), and daughter in law Christine Bisson, twelve grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Audrey Lavery and her husband Ronald.

A visitation will be held from 11am - 1pm, on Friday, October 23, at Church of the Holy Child, 2500 Naamans Rd., Wilmington, DE 19810, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Church of the Holy Child.
