Harry William Harner Obituary
Harry William Harner

Age 80, left this world to enjoy his Heavenly Home with his Lord and Savior on October 25, 2012. No more pain after almost eight years of being disabled by a severe stroke.

Harry graduated from Chichester High School where he played football and baseball. During his two years of service in the Army, he married his high school sweetheart, Lois Peters. The couple built their home in Boothwyn, residing there for 35 years. During this time, they raised 3 children and were actively involved in serving the Lord. His passion was sports and, after so many major health problems, he took pleasure in cheering for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He faithfully followed the Phillies at Clearwater and Philadelphia. He retired from Wyeth Lab in West Chester after 22 years and Sinclair Refinery in Marcus Hook prior to that. Harry and his wife were snowbirds for several years in Zephyrhills, Florida, and spent their summers at their home in Buttonwood Beach, Maryland. Later they settled in the Paladin Club in Delaware to be closer to their family.

In 2004, Harry suffered a stroke, and in 2008, he became a resident at the Kutz Home in Bellefonte. His family would like to thank all the staff there, Dr. Simpson, and Compassionate Care Hospice for their wonderful and loving care they gave to Harry. We also want to say thank you to Pastor Ryle for his steady faithfulness.

As a member of God's family, Harry is living victorious and rejoicing that his struggles are over and eternal joy is his! To God be the glory!

In addition to his wife, Lois Peters Harner, of 58 years, Harry is survived by his 3 children: Debra (Richard), Daniel (Karen), and David (Margy), and 7 grandchildren: Will (Sarah), Brian (Nadine), Rebecca (Shaun), Joshua (Mia), Derek (Karica), Brooke, and Trent. Pictures of them and his 12 great grandchildren (Abby, Calvin, Hudson, Lydia, Isaac, Justin, Emma, Caleb, Finn, Haydn, Riley, and Samuel) captured a special place in his room at Kutz, as well as in his heart. He is also survived by a sister (Naomi Peters) of Oak Forest, Illinois. A brother, Norman Harner, is deceased.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 10 am at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA officiated by Pastor Will Turner, Harry's grandson. Interment will follow at Brandywine Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Harry's family would appreciate donations in his memory to Grace Church of Philly, P.O. Box 31936, Phila., PA 19104-9971 (please memo "South Philly Church Plant - Will Turner).
