AGE: 94 • Denton, MD

Hazel M. Dalecki, age 94, of Denton, MD and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Homestead Manor Assisted Living, where she resided.

Born in Elsmere, DE on September 13, 1921, Hazel was the daughter of the late Theodore W. and Bessie (McDonald) Mark. She was a 1942 graduate of Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Wilmington and would make her career as a registered nurse at Wilmington Memorial Hospital and later at Christiana Hospital. Hazel retired after 30 years of dedicated service to her patients. Stong in her faith, she was a 45 year member of Silverbrook United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Charles W. Dalecki, Sr., son, Charles W. Dalecki, Jr. and daughter, Geraldine Kopishke. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah A. Lindinger (John) of Easton, MD; grandchildren, Monica, Phillip, Alicia, Jennifer, Mark and Trisha; and 5 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and staff of Compass Regional Hospice and the staff of Homestead Manor Assisted Living for the exceptional care provided to Hazel.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday afternoon, January 21, 2016, at Mt. Salem in Rockford Park U.M. Church, 2629 W. 19th St., Wilmington, DE. Interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Hazel's memory may be made to the , P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
