Helen M. Cichocki Obituary
Helen M. Cichocki

"Mom-Mom"

Helen Marie Townsend Cichocki of Millsboro, DE, went home to be with the Lord of Glory on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.

Helen was born on a dairy farm in Wawa, PA (Yes, where all of the Wawa Markets began). She lived a few days short of her 90th birthday. She worked for several years for the Schaeffer's Shop Rite Markets. She was married to John A. Cichocki for over 55 years.

Helen taught Sunday School for years. She had been, several years ago, the head of Missions. She hosted Bible Studies and Prayer Meetings in her home. Helen was such a source of great encouragement to her entire family and many friends. She would always send cards with timely messages, as she would assure others of her prayers for them. Helen was always ready to offer consul and was a confidante of the many she loved and prayed for.

A woman of varied interests, Helen was a voracious reader. A great conversationalist, she would amaze the family with her knowledge of current events. She had a firm grasp of the issues and stayed on top of the political scene. Helen loved to cook and was an avid gardener. She stayed abreast of all of the activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

More than all of the above, Helen was a student of the Scriptures and had a deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She "fought the good fight, she finished her course, she kept the faith" (2Tim.4:7).

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Delaware Hospice group for their tender care of Helen.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, John Cichocki. Helen temporarily leaves behind her only child, Lillian M. Shue and her husband, Rev. Al; her sister, Catherine Lesnik (Al); her brother-in-law, Vincent Cichocki; four grandchildren, John Shue (Tammy), Maryanne Melnick (Andy), Joseph Shue (Jamie) and Audra Posey (Brian); ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, October 27 at 11am at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Avenue (and DuPont Road), Wilmington, DE 19805, The Reverend Allen Miller officiating.

In honor of Helen's memory, donations may be made to the "Ministry of the Oak Orchard Church", 32615 Oak Orchard Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966.
