AGE: 88 • Newark

Henrietta S. "Hank" Cruikshank, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Millcroft Senior Living.

She was born in Manchester, NH to the late Adelaide (Leeman) and John Smith. Henrietta graduated from Manchester Central HS and Western College for Women in Oxford, OH. While attending the D. T. Watson Institute in Sewickley, PA to earn her Physical Therapist degree, she was in the first group of people inoculated with the Polio vaccine by Jonas Salk. Henrietta and her children were included in post studies for many years. She was a Physical Therapist for the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children, the Delaware Curative Workshop and retired from the Colonial School District. Henrietta was a member of the American Physical Therapists Assoc. She enjoyed golf, counted cross stitch and especially her dogs.

Henrietta's husband of 62 years, John D. Cruikshank, died in 2007. She is survived by her 3 sons, David S. (Hisako) of Las Vegas, NV, James M. (Alice) of Wellington, FL and Robert W. of Newark, DE; her grandchildren, Casey and Alec Cruikshank and a great-grandson, Tyson.

Services and burial will be private.
