AGE: 69 • Bear

James S. Dickey, age 69, of Bear, Delaware died on Saturday June 4th, 2016.

He received his early education in East Williston School District and graduated from The Wheatley School (High School) class of 1965 in New York. James attended New York State University College at Farmingdale and the University of Vermont receiving dual degrees in Engineering and Business.

In his professional career, he was a U.S. Merchant Marine Officer (Chief Engineer) for many years. James, also, served in the U.S. Coast Guard. Later in life, he worked for Federal Express as a facility engineer at the Newark Airport; for Texaco as the Port Engineer in Delaware City, DE; for Lanxide Corp. as their facility engineer in Newark, DE and as a tax agent with H&R Block.

He is survived by his wife Lynn Sitkowski Dickey of 46 years: his two sons and their wives Jason and Maria Dickey of Towson, MD and Justin and Allison Dickey of Alloway, NJ, his 3 grandchildren Jacob, Jeremiah and Cameron and two sisters, Alice Tarlach of Brick, NJ and Elizabeth Prince of Mays Landing, NJ.

A memorial service will be held from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Elkton Presbyterian Church, 209 E Main St, Elkton, MD 21921. After the service, a reception with refreshments will be served by the Presbyterian Women. A viewing will be held at the church for friends and family from 2 p.m. to 3p.m.

Interment will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery, 83-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens, New York 11415 on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 1 p.m. Family and friends are welcomed.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Elkton Presbyterian Church, 209 East Main Street, Elkton MD 21921 dedicated to the "Building Preservation Fund."
