Jean B. Gottselig, age 88, passed away on March 18, 2017. Jean was the youngest of four children born to Caleb and Gertrude Wilson. She was raised in Hockessin, Delaware and graduated from Conrad High School in 1946.

In 1949, Jean met the love of her life, Martin "Tex" Gottselig, and soon the two began their lives as husband and wife. Jean and Martin raised seven children in Claymont, Delaware. In 1978, the two relocated their family to Martin's native Texas, and Jean enjoyed the remainder of her life as a Houstonian.

Jean was a devoted wife, a loving mother and an adoring grandmother. When she wasn't chasing children or keeping her home tidy, Jean took great pleasure and pride in all forms of needlework. In fact, later in her life Jean became an award-winning quilter. Jean will best be remembered for her sweet demeanor, her wicked wit and her perpetual smile.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Martin, and three of her sons, Rick, John, and James. Jean is survived by four of her seven children, Deborah Gottselig, of Wimberley, TX, Michael Gottselig of Atlanta, GA, Ann Collins of Glendale, AZ, and Terrie James of Houston, TX. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 22, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the .
