Jill Alene Campbell Obituary
Jill Alene Campbell

AGE: 69 • Claymont

Jill Alene Campbell, 69, of Claymont, Delaware, passed away surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Jill was born in Wilmington, Delaware in January of 1947, daughter of the late Harold and Edythe White (LeCates). She grew up in Claymont, where she met her future husband and graduated from Claymont High School in 1965. Two years later, she married the love of her life, Bill, and began a lifelong love that culminated in three children and four grandchildren over the next 49 years.

Jill was known for working for every bank in Delaware, closing them down as she went along until finally retiring from JP Morgan Chase. She was very fond of Sears and Strawbridge and Clothier, but nothing was more important to her than her husband, family and friends. She will always be known for her dry sense of humor, gullibility and for her love of baking, along with her snowbaby collection, carousels and roller coasters.

Jill is survived by her husband, William S. Campbell III; children, Jackie Coyle and life partner Sue, Christopher Campbell and Brian Campbell and wife Kimberly; grandchildren, Ashley, William, Aidan and Ava; and sister, Jackie Dougherty and husband Roger and brother Waller White, along with a very large extended family.

Jill was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Senkbeil.

Friends are invited to visit at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, on Tuesday, February 16 from 8:30 am to 9:30 am. A Celebration of Jill's life will be conducted after visitation, at 9:30 am, with the committal following in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either the Lupus Foundation of America ( or the (
