Joan S. Vigneulle Obituary
Joan S. Vigneulle

Age 83, passed peacefully on March 18, 2016.

She is now in heaven because as a teenager she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior. Joan was born at her grandparents' home in Marshallton, DE on January 6, 1933, the daughter of Carl and Gladys Smith. She graduated from Conrad High School, attended the Philadelphia College of the Bible, worked at Hercules, Inc. as a secretary, then spent 1954 in an evangelistic group called "God's Invasion Army."

In 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Bill and they were blessed with the gift of a son, Gregory and a daughter, Terri. Joan spent 15 years working at Artisans' Bank. She loved teaching, going to Bible studies, gardening, reading, entertaining and having lunches with friends. She also volunteered with Delaware Hospice for over 15 years and 10 years at the A.I. duPont Hospital as a pastoral care volunteer.

Joan will be remembered for her strong faith and loving spirit and had numerous friends. She just loved everyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gregory. She is survived by her husband, Bill of 60 years; daughter, Terri James of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Michael G. of Langhorne, PA and Julie of New York, NY; great-grandchildren, Kayla M. Ruggiero of Warminster, PA and Frank W. Vigneulle of Langhorne, PA; her sister, Nancy Thompson of Harrisburg, PA and nieces and nephews.

Joan will be sorely missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Joan's life to be held, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church.
