John B. DiMaio "Jack"

AGE: 64 • Newark

Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Born in Chester, PA, Jack was the son of the late Joseph and Rosemary DiMaio, and sister Judy Polzin. He was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and attended the University of Delaware. He worked as an electrician for over 40 years with Hercules, Delaware City Refinery and the DuPont Company. His hobbies included golfing and was a loyal fan of the Phillies and Eagles. He was known for his sense of humor and was always the life of the party.

Jack will be deeply missed by his wife of 39 years, Peggy (Calhoun) DiMaio; his daughter, Erin and sons, Matthew (fiancé, Shannon Freel), Mark; and his only grandson, Kaden. Also surviving are his sisters, Joanne Quinn, Jean Hendricks, Peggy Marshall (Bob), Ann Meixell (Denny), and brother Joseph DiMaio. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Kathleen Van Bergen, brother-in-law's Bob Calhoun (Donna) and Jim Calhoun. Jack leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends and neighbors.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church,15 Gender Drive, Newark, DE 19713 on Monday, September 26 at 12 noon. Visitation begins at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
