Born in Wilmington Delaware, to Henrietta and John Yasik Sr., he was a graduate of Wilmington High School. Jack attended the University of Delaware, Temple University, and graduated from Eckels College of Mortuary Science.

Jack owned and operated the John F Yasik Funeral Home in Wilmington, Delaware. He showed great pride, care, and compassion in his profession. He served as secretary of the Delaware State Funeral Directors Association for over 24 years and was a member of the National Funeral Directors Association. He was the last elected Coroner of the State of Delaware.

Jack was a lifetime faithful member of St. Hedwig Church where he was active in serving the parish as usher and choir director. A 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, he was a member of St. John Paul II Council and Bishop Fitz Maurice Assembly, and celebrated over fifty years as a Knight. Jack loved music. He was a skilled and talented percussionist. In his teen years, he was the drummer and bandleader of the "Jackie Yasik Orchestra", playing at parish hall dances. In later years he led a trio called the "Jems", and they played many dances and weddings. He was a member of the 287th Delaware National Guard Band proudly representing his State as he marched in both of Dwight D. Eisenhower's Inaugural Parades. In his later years he continued with his love of music by performing in the Brandywine Pops Orchestra.

He was happiest when surrounded by his loving family. Jack enjoyed music, dancing, bowling, and traveling with his wife. He demonstrated a witty sense of humor and had a very keen memory.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Stephanie (Okarski); his children, John Yasik III (Dianne), Janice Dawson (Joseph), James Yasik (Karen); son in law, Thomas Myers; 10 dearly loved grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan), Matthew (Chrissy), Megan, Michael (Katie), Brittany, Margaret, Franny, John, Ashe and Elizabeth; 7 loved great grandchildren; a brother in law, Tony Tusio; and many nieces and nephews.
