AGE: 92 • Elsmere

Passed away on June 19, 2017 after a short illness. Jack was a Navy veteran of WWII. After his service in the Navy he worked for Sears Roebuck & Co. as service manager until his retirement in 1987.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and loved carving wildlife figures out of odd pieces of wood. In recent years, Jack enjoyed summer days relaxing on his deck, caring for his plants, and taking long naps on his swing.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth; sisters, Marie Harkins, Margaret McGonigle, Gertrude Campbell, Catherine Moses and brothers, Joseph and James.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edith (Hand); sons, John and Thomas (Linda); daughters, Karen, Marie, Susan, Sandra Lopez, Lynn, and Beth Alexander; grandchildren, Glen Alexander, Nicole Schneider, Ana, Daniela, Natalie Lopez and Anthony Damiani; great-grandson, Dylan Damiani.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday June 26th at 11:00am at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 905 New Rd, Wilmington DE, 19805. Friends may call at the church from 9-10:30am. Interment is in Delaware Veterans Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd, Bear, DE 19701. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO BOX 758516 Topeka, KS 66675.
