John J. King "Boat"

Jack, 87, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 surrounded by his family.

He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1942 and joined the Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Huse during WWII. He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local Union 313 for 64 years and was a founding member of the EWOD Credit Union. Jack was a member of the Defiance Athletic Association and a longtime Phillies, Eagles, and Fighting Irish fan. He was predeceased by his parents, James B. and Eleanor (Burns) King and his brother Edward.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy (Dineen) King, his children; daughters, Sue and Gary Guillotte, Nancy and Dave Cremi, Karen and fiancé Mike Cattalo; sons Jim, Jack and Becky, his brother James and Mary King, his grandchildren Heather Mafnas (Sebastian), Diana Guillotte, Jaclyn Szewczyk (Steve), Jennifer King, Stephanie King, David and Michelle Cremi, and a great-granddaughter, Dennen Szewczyk.

Sincere thanks are extended to the Christiana Care CICU/CVICU and Heartland Hospice staff.

Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, Feb. 23, 10 am at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Rd. Calling hours will be 6-8 pm Wednesday evening at Mealey Funeral Home, Limestone and Milltown Roads. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
