I discovered "The Rifleman" in 2012 and was totally captivated by everything about Johnny Crawford. I will never tire of watching him act. Thank God I recently acquired a copy of the Thilgman movie. I will now drown myself in his music for a few hours.
God speed Johnny and God bless you Charlotte and Bobby.
Relationship? Second biggest fan. I defer to Tracy B.

As a little girl I was madly in love with Johnny Crawford and when I failed to make an entry in a contest to win a date with him, it crushed me and I cried all night. I vowed I would meet him one day and then missed my chance to be the daughter in Marcus Welby, M.D. when the producer came to Pittsfield, Mass and watched a play I was supposed to be the lead in as a singer and actress in 1968 at B.C.C.; I dropped out of the play because I had a panic attack otherwise I would have been on stage and would have won the part because I had had a visionary experience as a child when I almost died and was told I would one day play the part of Robert Young's (the actor) daughter on t.v. ( and Marcus Welby was played by Robert Young.( Such is life...we can miss a great opportunity when we go into fear. I always believed had I gone to Hollywood, I would have met Johnny; such is life. You had such a sweet spirit and so many friends who have loved you this is obvious in your lifetime. I will be getting your album; I love hearing you sing. May you enjoy Heaven Johnny; it's a great place and we all have that to look forward to. Hope to finally meet you at least in Heaven some day; I'm sure you will have lots of fans there to greet. one of your lifelong fans, Elizabeth (Lansing) Montgomery

Mrs. Crawford and to everyone who had felt this loss, like myself I would like to pass on my deepest condolences. I remember watching Johnny as a kid on the Mickey Mouse Club. Most recently ans even today I watch The Rifleman on WHCTHD on Connecticut. I wad raised on a beef farm in a small town in Connecticut that we recently sold due to the loss of my own grand parents. I will continue to watch Johnny everyday of the week because it still brings me so much peace. I am sure you are devastated also. I really want you to know I will forever be a fan in the best way possible. My memories go back nearly 50 years and I will continue for as many years as possible thinking of those great years.

My prayers deeply go out to Johnny’s wife and brother and the whole family...Johnny was a talent that comes around once in a while but as a human being it would be a dime a dozen to find one that was so caring passionated and so very respectful...Johnny loved and respected the silent era of tv and the actors and actress of that time so it was a nice touch to add some in the best western series of all time The Rifle man.

In honor of Johnny’s passing I figured I would start over the series which I have been watching for over 40 years but I couldn’t get pass the pilot seeing “Mark” so adorable and innocent....Tears still flow when i see him on TV or pics....I feel like I lost a older brother...He was well loved through out the world...I thank Jonnys parents and God for sharing Johnny with the rest of the world....God bless Johnny forever

There was something very unique about this young man. I remember viewing tv’s “The Rifleman “ and thinking how natural of an actor he was. His role of young Mark along with Chuck Connors Pa, was so right. They had the chemistry that was needed to make this show special for family viewing. I remember watching the repeats as a young girl and I honestly thought that they were actually father and son in real life. Later on I saw Mr. Crawford at a convention event signing autographs. He was sweet, kind, and generous he maintained an air of decency about him, I was very impressed that he grew up a fine, genuine man, who by the way had maintained a close relationship with Mr. Connors until the day he passed. My condolences to Mr. Crawford’s family, and please know that he made a lot of us viewers very happy. RIP

To Charlotte,
I am sorry for your loss and I hope he with home to be with the Lord quietly. I called myself the "Rifleman" #1 fan and I just loved watching the love and closeness of the McCain family. Johnny Crawford was a great actor playing "Mark McCain" as was his father (Luca McCain) Chuck Connor. I was upset when I found out that he had past. The Rifleman was a family show. I watched him every chance I got because he was just like any other boy, mischief, sometime misbehaved, playful and up-to-no-good with his friends. I loved to hear him sing, he had a golden voice and I will miss reading reviews about his life as an actor and singer. I have my memories of you from when I was younger and I still watch the "Rifleman". I can see you riding toward those white cloud and that bright light. R.I.P Johnny Crawford.

I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny in 2017 at the Kanab, Utah Western Stars Festival. He was very gracious and friendly. I snapped some photos, he complimented me on my camera and we spoke briefly about the Rifleman show, his relationship with Chuck Connors and all the wonderful character actors he worked with. Johnny was a wonderful young actor who did a great job with the material the writers gave him. Meeting him was certainly a highlight of my vacation that year. Rest in Peace dear friend.

Johnny Crawford was my #1 favorite actor when I was a child. On "The Rifleman" he portrayed an honest, multi-talented, hard working, sincere, moral, endearing and loving son. There wasn't anything about Johnny you could dislike or criticize. It is tragic that he contracted Alzheimer's disease and Covid-19 and that he has left the world.
