Judith "Judy" Engberg Shaer, 67, of Newark, DE, passed in peace surrounded by friends and family

Monday, January 23rd, 2017 from a brief battle with cancer. After many years working for PNC Bank, Judy thoroughly enjoyed retirement traveling the country in her RV with her husband of 47 years, Emil, and teaching piano to her many students. Long known for her love for the Lord, she played the piano, taught Bible studies, led prayer groups and volunteered to help with many plays at Glasgow Church of which she was a founding member.

She leaves behind her husband, Emil H. Shaer; daughters, Karen A. Shaer Cooper and her husband Greg Cooper and Angela L. Shaer Crew and her husband Thomas Crew; son, Chris J. Shaer and his wife Francy Shaer; and grandchildren: Tyler Crew, Alec Shaer, Sadie Cooper, Mac Cooper, Emily Shaer, Joseph Shaer and Esteban Carrillo.

A viewing will be held Monday, January 30th, from 4 to 6pm followed by a celebration of life service at 6pm at Glasgow Church 2880 Summit Bridge Rd, Bear, DE 19701. Burial will be private.
