AGE: 74 • formerly of Newark

Judith Poinsett Fischbach, 74, formerly of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully at her home in Glendale Arizona on April 15th after a lengthy illness. Judy, a native of Delaware, earned her degree in Psychology from Wilmington College where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and was her class Valedictorian. Judy spent her working career as a case worker for the Delaware Division of Vocational Rehabilitation where she was instrumental in placing individuals with disabilities in meaningful jobs. In 1985, Judy relocated to Arizona to seek relief for her chronic severe arthritis and enjoyed every minute of the dry desert heat. Judy was a musician, playing the cello in her younger years. She was a gifted artist and enjoyed drawing in charcoal and pastels and painting in watercolors. She was a talented seamstress, an avid collector of dolls and insulators and a true animal lover.

Judy is predeceased by her parents, Albert E. and Kathryn P. Stringer and a brother Albert Stringer Jr. She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, Peter Fischbach, her son, Dr William Gonce of Newark DE, two daughters, Kathryn Sheehan and Deborah Cole of Newark DE, a sister, June Rietdorf of Claymont DE, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A service celebrating her life will be held in Delaware at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution in Judy's memory to , 1510 E.
