Karalee "Lee" Langford


Karalee Langford died on January 30, 2016 at home at Somerford Place, Newark, Delaware. Lee was born June 9, 1933 in Detroit Michigan, daughter of the late Burton and Revona Langford. She was educated in Detroit schools, graduating from Cass Technical High School in 1951. Lee moved to Wilmington, Delaware with her family in 1952 where her father became maintenance superintendent at the Chrysler Delaware Tank Plant in Newark. Lee was employed by the Diamond State Telephone Company for many years, becoming supervisor of operators. She owned a house in Wilmington, and enjoyed entertaining friends and neighbors. Lee was artistically talented, pursuing many interests in music, art, and drama. She played piano and harp, often accompanying various orchestras in the area with the harp. She was a longtime member of the Brandywiners, performing and helping backstage including creating posters and other artwork for the group, and was active with the Wilmington Drama League.

Lee is survived by relatives in Connecticut including her niece, Lynda Perrelli; grand nieces Marissa Ciminera and Pamela Perrelli; great grandnephew Andrew Ciminera; nephew Thomas Undercuffler and his wife Tina; grand nephews Thomas, Tyler, and Anthony; brother in law Edwin Undercuffler; and dear friends Trish and Elllie. Her sister, Sidni Undercuffler, predeceased her.
