AGE: 69 • Wilmington, DE

Mr. Gardner peacefully passed away on June 9th at Lorien Riverside Assisted Care Facility in Bel Camp, MD. Kendall was born on June 27, 1946 to the late James W. Gardner and Evelyn Streett Gardner. His younger brother, Emile Alphonse Gardner died in CA on April 9, 2016. Kendall is survived by his loving sister, Martina Gardner Woods (Norm) of Durham, NC, his niece Jeanne' Shamley (Mark), FL, grand nephew, Marc Xavier, grand nieces, Martina Carolyn and Johnna Moure'; his nephews, Harvey Gardner Moore, NY, and Jim Moore (Monica), MI, grandson Tavian Allen and grand nieces Bria Jeanne' and Francine Xiomei, a host of cousins, friends, as well as a cherished friend, Adelaide Brown. Kendall attended Henry Conrad High School, earned is BS in Economics from Delaware State Un., served in the US Navy in Vietnam. He worked in the Wilmington Public School System as a permanent substitute teacher. He devoted much of his adult life as the devoted care taker for his parental grandparents. He was a gifted and talented gentleman who was well read, sang, played all of the woodwind instruments, spoke 4 languages and never met a stranger. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the church below in Kendall's name. There will be a viewing from 6PM-8PM on Thurs., June 16th at Congo Funeral Home, 201 N. Gray Ave., Wilm, DE. Funeral, 10:30AM Fri., June 17th at The Episcopal Church of SAMS, 701 Shipley St., Wilm, DE; viewing from 9-10:15 am only. Burial, Gracelawn Memorial Park
