Laura Marie Nolte, Age 49 of Hockessin, Delaware died on September 20, 2015 at 12:45 am. She was a wife, mother, lawyer, gardener and athlete. Laura died at home, surrounded by her family, after a long courageous fight against lung cancer.

Laura was a graduate of Villanova University (Cum Laude) 1988, Temple University School of Law (with Honors) 1991. Laura was admitted to practice law in both the States of Delaware and Pennsylvania.

She worked as an attorney, most recently in the Delaware office of Reilly Janiczek McDevitt Henrich & Cholden, PC. Laura also served on the boards of several charitable organizations, most recently on the Board of the Friends of Goodstay Gardens, where she indulged her passion for gardening and she served on the Board of Family Promise of Southern Chester County, a faith based organization dedicated to providing temporary housing for displaced families. Laura was a Christian and an active member of her church, the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

A lifelong athlete, Laura loved to play tennis and golf, competing in both USTA and club events.

Laura is survived by her husband R. Stokes Nolte and her three sons Emory Stokes Nolte, Andrew James Nolte and Henry Scott Nolte, all of Hockessin Delaware, her mother Carol Riordan who lives in Ft Myers Florida with her husband George Riordan, her sister Linda Harclerode of Ft Myers Florida, her sister Lisa LaVake and her husband Tom LaVake of Princeton, New Jersey and her brother Paul Licata of Allentown, Pennsylvania.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 401 N. Union Street, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to "Free to Breath" an organization dedicated to surviving lung cancer and lung cancer research, 1 Point Place, Suite 200, Madison WI 53719. The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers for their incredible efforts on her behalf, including the amazing people at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Heartland Hospice and the many friends who supported Laura and her family during her fight.
