AGE: 86 • Newark

Leo George Kulaszewski, age 86, of Newark, DE, was reunited with family in heaven on Friday, September 30, 2016 while surrounded by loving family here on earth. Leo volunteered and proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a member and active participant of Holy Family Parish as well as a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Leo was a charter member of the Bohemian Knights of Columbus Council. He also served in his community as past president of the Cleland Heights Civic Association. Leo enjoyed dressing up as Santa during the holidays, watching westerns, war movies, and NFL football. He was a kind hearted man who was loved by all. Leo cherished the lifetime of memories made with the love of his life, Frances, and was so proud of his devoted daughter, Donna and son, Gary - a 28 year Air Force Vet. His grandchildren brought much joy in his life.

Leo is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Frances Kulaszewski; daughter, Donna Kulaszewski Kitts (James); son, Leo "Gary" Kulaszewski; 7 grandchildren: Brian Leo Kitts (Yasuyo), Shawn Kitts (Kandace), Andrew Kitts, Adam "Leo" Kulaszewski, Sara Kulaszewski, Marc Kulaszewski, and Ryan Kulaszewski; 4 great grandchildren: Jordan, Emily, Florence, and Riley; 3 nephews, John, Antos, and Tom; and special cousin, Donna Kulaszewski McLee (Joe). He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Florence Kulaszewski and step mother who raised him, Stella Kulaszewski.

A visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016, from 9:30-11 AM in Holy Family Parish, 15 Gender Rd., New Castle, DE 19720 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The family requests no flowers be sent but rather that donations be made to , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
