Leonard A. Quinn Obituary
Leonard A. Quinn

AGE: 76 • Newark

Leonard A. Quinn, 76 of Newark, DE, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by loving family on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.

A proud member of "The Quinn 15", Len was born in Wilmington on May 30, 1939, son of the late John and Catherine (Riley) Quinn. He was raised in Holly Oak and was a graduate of Salesianum School and St. Joseph's University, having been a faithful and loyal Hawk for more than 50 years. Len began his career in the Textile Fibers Division of DuPont, and pursued his career in sales by joining Quinn Data Products with his brother, Michael. He later formed his own computer sales and service company, Callaghan-Quinn Associates, Inc. and presided over operations for more than 20 years. Len was also Publisher and Sales Director for Delaware Today Magazine for several years.

Len enjoyed his commitment to his church as a Eucharistic Minister and lector at various parishes, and was most recently a member of St. John's - Holy Angels Parish. Pursuing his interest in the welfare of children, he was a board member of Catholic Charities for more than 20 years and sat on the Foster Care Review Board for 2 terms.

Len's greatest joy and accomplishment was his family. He especially loved being a grandfather and attending his grandchildren's school and sporting events. Len enjoyed a unique relationship with his siblings; more than just a brother, he was a mentor and a forever friend. He was regarded by several of his brothers as being "the best of us".

Len will be dearly missed by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (Lehane) Quinn; his son, Stephen and wife, Beth; his daughter, Erin Tobin and husband, Mark; and his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Sean, Brendan and Megan Quinn, Shannon and Kevin Tobin. He is also survived by his siblings, J. Timothy, Mary Ellen Brown, James, Sister Roseann Quinn, SSJ, Michael, Cathy Hazzard, Kevin, Dennis, Regina Igo, Susan Dawson, Philip, Sean and Anne Vanneman; as well as countless nieces, nephews, godchildren and in-laws. Len was predeceased by his sister, Anastasia Sillett.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Sunday, December 6 from 2:00-5:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711 on Monday, December 7 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
