Leonilda "Elda" Conforti Obituary
Leonilda "Elda" Conforti

Leonilda DeAnnuntis Conforti "MomMom Elda" (born in Roseto, Italy) of Little Italy in Wilmington, passed away on Sunday morning December 2, 2012 after a long battle with Alzheimer's as she was surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Francesco Conforti and is preceded in death by her 3 brothers Luigi, Emedio, and Giovanni, and her 2 sisters Immaculata and Vincenza. MomMom is survived by her daughter Carolina Conforti Alberti and her husband Mark of Newark Delaware, her grandchildren Marco, Roberto, Angelo, and Carolina Victoria Alberti, her sister Filomena (in Italy), her 3 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

MomMom Elda was devoted to her daughter and her grandchildren as well as to St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality. Over the years she spent countless hours donating her time to church, fundraising by selling raffle tickets, volunteering at the festival, sewing costumes for plays, Via Crucis and other pageants. She watched numerous children from the time they were babies and loved each one as if they were her own. She loved cooking and baking anything for anyone at any occasion. She was a strong-willed and determined woman. Her smile was infectious and she could light up a room. What she cherished most in life was her family and friends. She loved unconditionally and with her entire heart. She will be missed by all.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning, December 6, at 10:30AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington. Where friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Entombment will follow mass at Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Anthony of Padua Church, Delaware Hospice, or Elwyn Daycare Center in Wilmington.
