AGE: 87 • Elkton, MD

Mr. Lewis L. Craft, age 87, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017.

Born in Reisterstown, MD, on July 13, 1929, Mr. Craft was the son of the late William and Bertie (Reagan) Craft. His family later moved to Delaware and he graduated from Alexis I. DuPont High School, where he was a standout player on the basketball team. Mr. Craft also loved baseball and played whenever he had the opportunity to leave behind his many chores on the family farm.

He retired from the Chrysler Corporation in Newark, DE, after more than 30 years of service.

Dad will forever be remembered as a loving father, wonderful grandfather and remarkable provider for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, as well as attending Moore's Chapel in Elkton, MD, where he sang in the choir.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Craft was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jane Elizabeth Craft; his brothers, William and Robert; and his sister, Lillian Minser. He is survived by his 3 children, Louise Frock (Jeff), Charles Craft (Patricia) and Francis Craft (Kathy); and grandchildren, Rachel, Zachary, Garrett and Jeremy.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 am until 11 am on Saturday morning, February 25, 2017 at Moore's Chapel United Methodist Church, 329 Blake Rd., Elkton, MD 21921, where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Interment will be held privately in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to Moore's Chapel U.M.C. at the address listed above.
