Linda B. Whitaker Obituary
Linda B. Whitaker

Wilmington - Linda B. Whitaker (94) passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 6, 2019 surrounded by her beloved family members. She loved many things in this life, but none more than her predeceased husband, Samuel W. Whitaker Jr. Her family is comforted by the knowledge that they are reunited now once again and forever.

Theirs was a love story of days gone by including sometimes disapproving parents, an initially secret marriage and the joy and strife of children and grandchildren.

Through the ebbs and flows of a 49 year marriage they maintained a deep and profound love that will resonate long after their passing.

Linda/Mom/Mom-Mom never met a friend she couldn't make, a belly she couldn't fill, or an eleven against a six she wouldn't double down on!

She also graciously donated her time to the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary with monthly visits to the Elsmere VA Hospital.

Her family members will miss her dearly but are comforted by the knowledge that she is at peace and cruising around in a Cadillac somewhere with the love of her life.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Patricia Morris (Michael); her sons, Samuel III (Toni), and David Sr.; grandchildren, Samuel IV, David Jr., and Danielle; and her beloved, yet ornery cat, Bella, who was by her side to the end.

A private ceremony was held earlier this week.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Compass Regional Hospice, 255 Comet Dr. Centerville, MD 21617.
