AGE: 71 • Landenberg, PA

Lloyd A. Teitsworth, 71, of Landenberg, PA passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.

Lloyd was born in Wilmington on May 15, 1944, son of the late Lloyd and Helen (Pierson) Teitsworth. A 1962 graduate of McKean High School, he earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Delaware and a Master's Degree from Cheney State College. Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served during the Vietnam Era. He began his teaching career at Brandywine Springs Elementary School and spent the majority of his career teaching history at McKean High School, retiring in 2004 after 38 years of dedicated service to the Red Clay Consolidated School District.

Lloyd had a variety of hobbies: photography, woodworking, fishing and his motorcycle. He was also an avid reader, a devoted animal lover and enjoyed gardening and nature. Lloyd was very personable - he never met a stranger - and had a great sense of humor.

Lloyd will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 21 years, Leslie (Wilcox) Teitsworth; his daughter, Laura Teitsworth; his sons, Tyler Orner and wife, Megan, and Tom Orner; and his grandchildren, Mark and Charlie Teitsworth. He is also survived by his sister, Lynne Greenwood; his step mother, Dee Richardson; and his cousin, Ellen (Pierson) Piotrowski.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, September 9 from 5:00-7:00PM. A committal service will be held in the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear on Thursday, September 10 at 10:00AM.
