Lois J. DeVincentis Obituary
Lois J. DeVincentis

AGE: 81 • Wilmington

Lois J. DeVincentis, 81 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family, after a decade-long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Lois was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Alvin C. and Clara (Shivery) Thompson.

Lois was a loving wife and mother first, whose primary focus was on the family. Lois also worked for 35 years as secretary of the corporation and bookkeeper for the family business, ReNu Construction Co., Inc. She also worked for the DuPont Company, St. John the Beloved School's aftercare program - "The Eagles Club" and Leroy's Style Shop on Market Street.

Lois volunteered at St. Anthony's Grade School and at St. Anthony's Italian Festival. Lois had a huge place in her heart for children of all ages and was happiest when she was doing something with and for children. Lois always made time to give of herself to others and made it a point to put others before herself.

Lois is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Riccardo L. DeVincentis; her sons, Richard E. DeVincentis and his wife, Kimberly Szewczyk Donovan, and Michael E. DeVincentis; her brother, Alvin C. Thompson, and his wife, Mary; and her closest friend, Carmen Thompson.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her dear mother-in-law and friend, Adelina (Ianni) DeVincentis and best friend Jean Ianni.

The DeVincentis family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Adult Day Care, all of the wonderful doctors and nurses over the past several years, and the staff at Seasons Hospice, for all of the compassion and care given to Lois through the years battling Alzheimer's.
