AGE: 89 • Rehoboth Beach, formerly of St. Georges

Lulu May Cahall, age 89, passed away, peacefully, at Brandywine Senior Living, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. Brandywine had been her home, for the past 4 years.

She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Delaware and remained in Delaware all her life.

As a young adult she worked for American Optical in Wilmington, DE and when she moved to the St. Georges area she worked many years for Stapleford's Chevrolet and Oldsmobile, in St. Georges, DE. Later on, she went to work for McElhinney & Kirk Opticians, in Wilmington and retired from there in 1989.

She was a lifelong member of St. Georges United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's Society and Bible Study. She loved to travel and took many trips throughout her retirement years. Her greatest love was spending time with family and friends. She will be missed by many.

She is predeceased by her husband James W. Cahall (1994), her son Ronald E. Cahall (2007), her sister Jean A. Vesper (2013) and her parents Henry and Eliza Duhadaway.

She is survived by her daughter Rhenda L. Lakey (Steve) of Milton, DE; her daughter-in-law Barbara A. Cahall, a granddaughter Lauren M. Cahall, a grandson James W. Cahall (Tereesa), all of Goodyear, Arizona; and her brother Robert H. Duhadaway of Dover, DE.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, at 1:00 pm at Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, DE. Visitation is from 12 - 1 pm. Interment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.

The family would like to thank Brandywine Senior Living and Vitas Hospice for the extraordinary care given to her, throughout these final days.
