AGE: 75 • Glasgow, DE

Margaret "Peg" Wellborn passed away peacefully on Friday, January 8, 2016 at her home after a brief illness. Peg was born November 19, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Wilfred H. Miller, Jr. and Margaret (Gibbons) Miller. A mathematics teacher for 27 years, most of her career was spent at William Penn High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Delaware and her Master's Degree from Wilmington University. Peg enjoyed traveling with her family and managed to visit all 50 states. After retirement, she and her husband Paul enjoyed cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, Tahiti and Panama. She was particularly fond of the time spent with her family during seasonal visits to Key West. Peg was an avid quilter and loved making quilts for her family and friends.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her three sons, Stephen, David and Matthew Wellborn. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul H. Wellborn; her sister, Janet Yadack; children, Karen Albright (Garry), Eileen Adams (Jim Ficca) and Christopher Wellborn; grandsons, Greg (Amy) and Steve Albright, Ben (Kathryn) and Gordon Adams, Tim (Melinda) and Kevin Wellborn; and three great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Compassionate Care Hospice and the 3D Pulmonary Unit at Christiana Hospital for their support and comfort during a difficult time.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 13 from 5:00-7:00PM at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 14 at 11:00AM also at the Doherty Funeral Home, with an additional viewing beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will follow the service in All Saints Cemetery.
