Lancaster, PA - Marian Jeanette Williams Evans (93 years) passed from this life September 8th, 2018. She was the daughter of Ella Mae Gregory Williams and Frank Elbert Williams, born July 19, 1925 in Buffalo, N.Y. She graduated from high school in Rochester, NY in 1943. In March,1946, Marian and Franklin James Evans, Jr. from Hazleton, PA were married in Buffalo. She went to work at Penn State Univ. while her husband, Jim, earned his Master's degree there. They relocated to Columbus, OH where Marian worked at the Farm Bureau Insurance Company while Jim earned his PhD from Ohio State University.

Prior to moving to Willow Valley Communities in Lancaster, PA in 2000, Marian and Jim lived in Wilmington, DE for 47 years and raised their two children, Franklin James Evans III and Joan Jeanette Evans. Marian and Jim were both active members of Hanover Presbyterian Church for which Marian served as a Deacon, Elder and as Secretary of the Women's Association. Marian also served as a Cub Scout den mother and assistant Girl Scout leader. She was a talented amateur artist and her paintings were displayed as "Artist of the Month" at Willow Valley several times. She had a lovely singing voice, loved to dance and was a member of Willow Valley's tap and dance group until she was well into her 80s! She enjoyed traveling, writing poetry, playing bridge and sewing. She loved walking the beach to look for treasures and spent many happy winters in the British Virgin Islands with Jim.

Marian was predeceased by her husband, Jim in 2002. She is survived by her son, Frank and his wife Patti and granddaughter, Christine (all of Landenberg, PA) & her step-grandson Sean Klosiewicz and his daughter - Briana Fuentes (Alaska). She is also survived by her daughter, Joan and her husband Jeffrey Thielker (Frederick, MD) and grandsons; Jaefen Thielker and his wife Heather -two great grandchildren - James Thielker and Avery Thielker (all of Homestead, FL) and grandsons Joshua Thielker (Ann Arbor, MI) and Jordan Thielker (Fort Worth, TX).

Marian requested that no memorial service be held. Contributions in her name may be sent to the Water Street Mission, P.O. Box 7508, Lancaster, PA 17604-7508.
