AGE: 81 • Wilmington

Marlene Markisohn Noble passed on March 24, 2016. Born in St. Louis in 1934 to Joe and Ruth Meyer, she married HS sweetheart Gabriel Markisohn, then a student at Princeton University. While living in Princeton she worked with Dr. Robert Oppenheimer at the Institute for Advanced Study. Over the next 2 decades, the family lived in St. Louis (MO), Orlando (FL), Silver Spring (MD), and Ottawa, Ontario, before moving to Wilmington. She met and later married the love of the last 35 years of her life David Noble-settling in Newark. Marlene was an accomplished singer/actress, performing on local stages and in places of worship-including Arden Dinner Theater. She worked with youth choirs and high school drama productions after she ceased performing.

Marlene is survived by her 3 children: Jim (Nancy), Brad (Debbie) and Kathy (Diane); grandchildren: Jeremy, Nicole, Sara, Hannah and Jake; and great-grandchildren, Ellery and Gabe.
