Martha E. (Kaye) Kempczynski Obituary
Born in Wilmington on February 18, 1924 to Marco and Emily (Bove) Cofrancesco. Martha was dedicated to her family. She was a great wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and all around family person. She was always trying to help others, especially her three sons and their families.

In her younger years she enjoyed shuffleboard and played on a few League Championship Teams in the Wilmington area. In later years she loved playing bingo and taking trips to Atlantic City. She also enjoyed watching the Phillies in person and on TV with our Dad. On Sundays and holidays she always cooked more than enough for family and friends that would stop by to visit. Her skills in the kitchen with Italian dishes as well as many other nationality meals gave her the reputation of being an excellent cook. We love her and will miss her dearly.

Martha was predeceased by her daughter, Baby Martha; husband, Joseph; sister, Mary Stevenson; and brother, Alphonse Frank. She is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Kaye) Kempczynski Jr., Tommy Kaye and wife Maria, John Kempczynski; and her grandchildren, Joseph Kempczynski III, Steven Kempczynski and wife Kristin, Michele O'Brien and husband Rory, Alicia Compton and husband Brian, Christian Kaye and wife Nicole, and Michael Anthony. Also, her three great-grandsons, River, Cole, and Vinnie; her sister, Anne Dougherty; and sister-in-law, Hattie Battisto; as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.

Martha was a lifelong member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 301 N. Bancroft Pkwy., Wilmington on Friday, November 18 at 10 am. Friends may call at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Elsmere on Thursday evening November 17 from 6 to 8 pm. Interment in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
