AGE: 55 • Lewes, DE

Michael Brown Smith, age 55, of Lewes, DE died as a result of a truck accident on October 12, 2015. Raised in Blades, he was the son of Helen and Fred Smith. At age 9, Mom Louise became his second mom that he loved dearly. Mike attended school in Seaford. After school he joined the National Guard. He was employed as a truck driver with Crawford Trucking at the time of his death and had previously worked as a delivery driver for Peninsula Oil and other trucking companies. He also worked as an usher at the Delaware State Fair.

Mike was quite unique in that he had three birthdays: 12/20/59 to parents Helen and Fred Smith; then on 7/3/04 he received the gift of life with a liver transplant; on 12/10/11 he accepted the Lord as his Savoir and was born again. Mike loved the Baltimore Orioles, NASCAR racing, Dallas Cowboys and horseshoes.

He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Phillips, a brother Fred Smith III, two sisters Joyce Mears and Freda Miller, all of Seaford.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Priscilla (Pam) Meibaum-Smith of Lewes, a son Brooks Lyons of Felton, a step-son Michael Meibaum of Lewes, two sisters Diane Harrington (Rip Lloyd) and Debbie Waldridge, three brothers Steve Smith, Mark Smith (Deanna), and Scott Smith. He is also survived by three granddaughters Brianna Lyons, Savannah Lyons, Ilean Meibaum and 1 grandson Hyden Wheeler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and his faithful furry friends, Reggie, Skylar, Mollie and Peanut Butter.

Services will be on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Cranston Funeral Home, Seaford, DE. Visitation will be 1-2pm with funeral service beginning at 2pm. Interment will be at Blades Cemetery. Fellowship will be at the Blades Community Center.
