Nancy (Palmer) Davison

Wilmington - Nancy (Palmer) Davison, age 96, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

Born in Wilmington, DE, on September 16, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Chandler and Maria Ellen (Hickman) Palmer, Sr. Nancy made her career as a secretary for the Brandywine School District. She was a volunteer and director of the Altar Guild at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Wilmington and a co-director of the Altar Guild at Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green in New Castle. Nancy took great pleasure in reading during her free time. She will always be remembered for her loving spirit and willingness to care for others.

The family wishes to express its sincere and deep gratitude to the staff of the Country House for over a decade of kind, loving and compassionate care. The family would also like to express its appreciation to the staff of Vitas Hospice who added another layer of expert compassionate care during Nancy's final eighteen months.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Davison, Jr. and siblings, Jane Palmer Spicer and Joseph Chandler Palmer, Jr. She is survived by her sons, Henry R. Davison III (Myron) of Philadelphia, PA; Joseph Davison (Phillip) of New Castle and niece, Joan Spicer Evans of Collegeville, PA; and nephew, Dr. Stephen Jackson (Betsy) of Media, PA.

Service and inurnment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's memory to the Immanuel Episcopal Church on the Green Building Maintenance Fund, c/o Parish Office, 100 Harmony Streets, New Castle, DE, 19720.
